Chemay Forrester
Chemay has been dancing since the age of 3. She has won many prestigious awards as a competitive dancer over the years. In the 1979 Orpheus production of Hans Christian Anderson, Chemay played the role of “Thumbelina”. She performed regularly on the CJOH television show Homegrown Café. In 1999 she had the opportunity to tour as a dancer with The Family Brown Country Music Band to the Military Bases in Yellowknife, Alert, Masset and Goose Bay. Chemay started teaching jazz and tap at the age of 15 and now plays a major role in the operation of Denise Smith Dance Studio. She has adjudicated many dance competitions and has won many choreography and entertainment awards for her excellent skills at events throughout Canada and the United States. Students have won numerous overall high scoring awards in competitions throughout Canada and the U.S. including Sr. Mister Candance in 2006, Junior Miss, Senior Miss and Senior Mister Starpower in 2007 and Senior Miss Starpower and 2nd runner up to Senior Mister Starpower at the Starpower National World Championships in Ocean City in July of 2007.
