Denise Smith   Denise Smith
Denise has trained dancers at Denise Smith Dance Studio since 1979.  She has adjudicated numerous prestigious dance competitions throughout Ontario and the United States as well as produced dancers who have participated in National Defense Tours to Bosnia, Alert and Yellowknife, danced professionally in movies, videos and dancers performing professionally on board Royal Caribbean cruise lines.  Denise has choreographed and performed in many theatre productions with the Orpheus Operatic Society and Ottawa Little Theatre.  Students from Denise Smith Studio have performed at a variety of Corporate Events including  television.  She continues to share her expertise and love of dance with her students.
     
Chemay Forrester   Chemay Forrester

Chemay is the co-director of Denise Smith Dance Studio in Manotick, Ontario, Canada where she has taught all forms of dance classes for the past 21 years.  Having started dancing at the age of 3, Chemay has always had a true love for the art of dance and a true passion to teach. She is well known in the dance community for her progressive and innovative style of choreography and creative costume design.
Over the years Chemay has trained numerous students, some of which have gone on to do professional work.  Her former students have performed in the 2002 Universal Pictures film "Honey", "Tweet" Music Video, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Cirque de Soleil in Las Vegas, Nevada and had a number of students audition for So You Think You Can Dance Canada.  Most recently one of her students placed in the top 20 of So You Think You Can Dance Canada, season 2.
Chemay has adjudicated a number of dance competitions and has won many choreography and entertainment awards for her excellent skills at events throughout Canada and the United States.

Stacey Hamilton   Stacey Hamilton
Stacey started her dance career at Denise Smith Dance Studio at the age of 4 and has been involved in the studio, dancing or teaching ever since.  She has competed and performed extensively in North America, as well has performed for our Canadian troops in Bosnia.  Currently, Stacey teaches dance and musical theatre full time at South Carleton High School as well as Denise Smith Studio.
Cindy Newell   Cindy Newell
Cindy was trained in gymnastics and competed with the Nepean Corona Gymnastic Club and the Ottawa Gymnastic Club. Cindy won many awards as a gymnast. She started her dancing at the age of 9 and competed in jazz, tap and acrobatic-gymnastics until the age of 16 and won many awards during this time. Cindy is a certified instructor and has been teaching acrobatic-gymnastics at Denise Smith Studio for the past 7 years. She has trained students who have become certified instructors in acrobatic-gymnastics.
rebecca   Rebecca Tee
Rebecca danced competitively for 15 years while completing R.A.D majors’ exams as well as ADAPT tap and jazz. She also performed for two years with the Company of Musical Theatre. She then joined the Queen’s University Dance Club, Canada’s largest recreational university club, pursuing lyrical, jazz and classical ballet. During her time at Queen’s, she taught the Advanced Technical Jazz class and choreographed advanced jazz and ballet performances. She also joined Impulse Dance Co. at that time and performed locally. Rebecca also taught R.A.D. ballet at 5, 6, 7, 8 Dance Studio in Kingston, ON, preparing students for their exams, competitions, and performances. Rebecca joined Denise Smith Studio of Dance in 2006 as a ballet teacher and choreographer. Rebecca has completed her M.Sc. degree in Molecular Cardiology and is now working at the Heart Institute.”
 
Katie Campbell   Katie Campbell
Katie has been teaching dance classes at Denise Smith Studio in jazz, tap and hip hop for a number of years. She was a competitive dancer for many years.  While attending South Carleton High School she was actively involved in the dance program. Katie has also choreographed and participated in routines for the school annual fashion show.  She continues to show her love for dance by passing it on through her teaching.
 
Brenna Weir   Brenna Weir
Brenna started dancing at the age of 6 in ballet, tap, and jazz.
She began her competitive dance career at the age of 8 becoming dancer of the year twice and receiving many other awards. She has become a well-rounded teacher in tap, jazz and ballet and has completed R.A.D ballet exams and A.D.A.P.T exams. This past year she attended Ryerson University in Toronto for their Dance Program allowing her to extend her training in ballet, jazz and modern.

Mindy Conto   Mindy Conto
Mindy was born and raised in North Bay, Ontario and has trained in all disciplines of dance since the age of 10! She is an accomplished choreographer, dancer and instructor who continues to share her passion and love for dance with her students all over Ontario! She has coordinated many NBA, NFL and CFL dance teams including the Toronto Raptors Dance PAk(NBA) in which she was a team member and dance captain for 4 seasons. Mindy has appeared in many dance movies and numerous commercials for Esquire Watches. She has also performed back up for many popular artists such as Hilary Duff, Bow Wow, Destiny's Child, Aaron Carter and Neil Young. Mindy is currently on Tour in the Middle East, North Africa and Australia with music artist Massari! Mindy loves Denise and Chemay too pieces!!! They are her family away from home!!
